I Am Distinguished – the eleventh story – from the Love Series, Level Two: “I Love You All” in the Tafakkur Program. This is a series of methodological stories that build the child’s faith and self-confidence, while nurturing thinking, creativity, and intelligence.

Inside each of us lies a star within the chest. It shines when a person feels distinguished, and its light fades when we are criticized or when we fail.

In this story, Annoos passes through the themes of self-confidence and self-esteem, seeking to comfort his black, weeping star. Its rays illuminate with every feeling that fills him with distinction and love for Allah the Generous.

This illumination appears on the general level in being created as a human and honored as a Muslim, and on the personal level in sensing one’s ability and capacity, knowing what one loves and enjoys doing, and feeling loved and appreciated. All these meanings settle in his mind and chest, lighting the sense of distinction and uniqueness within him.
